সিরিয়ার বিভিন্ন জলাশয়ের ধারে আধা–মরু অঞ্চলে শত শত বছর ধরে বেদুইন সম্প্রদায় ভাসমান জীবন কাটিয়ে আসছে।তারা উট, দুম্বা, ভেড়া, ছাগলসহ নানা ধরনের গবাদিপশু পালন করে জীবিকা নির্বাহ করে। তারা জলাশয়সংলগ্ন এলাকার তৃণভূমিগুলোতে গবাদিপশু চরাতে চরাতে এক জায়গা থেকে তাঁবু উঠিয়ে অন্য জায়গায় তাঁবু ফেলে।

তারা গবাদিপশু চরাতে চরাতে এক জায়গা থেকে
তাঁবু উঠিয়ে অন্য জায়গায় তাঁবু ফেলে--They set up

The Bedouin community has been leading

সংসার চলে। এভাবেই শত শত বছর ধরে তারা
যাযাবরের জীবন কাটিয়ে আসছে। তাদের এই চির–
অস্থায়ী আবাসের অভ্যাস সিরিয়ার ঐতিহ্য ও
সংস্কৃতিতে অনন্য বৈচিত্র্য যোগ করেছে। কিন্তু
তাদের অস্তিত্ব এখন হুমকির মুখে। দেশটিতে
গৃহযুদ্ধ শুরু হওয়ার পর থেকে তারা চরম অস্তিত্ব
সংকটে পড়েছে।
পশু ও পশুর দুধ বিক্রির অর্থেই মূলত তাদের
সংসার চলে--Mainly,their families depend on the
money from selling animals and animal's milk.
এভাবেই শত শত বছর ধরে তারা যাযাবরের
জীবন কাটিয়ে আসছে--In this way,they have
been passing a nomand life for hundreds of
years.
তাদের এই চির–অস্থায়ী আবাসের অভ্যাস--
Their habit of momentary residence
সিরিয়ার ঐতিহ্য ও সংস্কৃতিতে অনন্য বৈচিত্র্য
যোগ করেছে--has added a unique diversity
to the traditions and cultures of Syria.
কিন্তু তাদের অস্তিত্ব এখন হুমকির মুখে--But
their existence is now under threat.
দেশটিতে গৃহযুদ্ধ শুরু হওয়ার পর থেকে তারা
চরম অস্তিত্ব সংকটে পড়েছে--They have fallen
into extreme existential crisis after launching the
civil war in the country.
Mainly,their families depend on the
money from selling animals and animal's milk.In
this way,they have been passing a nomand life
for hundreds of years.Their habit of momentary
residence has added a unique diversity to the
traditions and cultures of Syria.But their
existence is now under threat.They have fallen
into extreme existential crisis after launching the
civil war in the country.
